La gratuité de Facebook compromise?

Depuis qu’Apple impose l’option d’empêcher le traçage des informations personnelles aux applications sous iOS, Facebook et Instagram disent que de le faire pourrait compromettre la gratuité de leurs services. Ce chroniqueur aurait envie que ce soit le cas:

How much more honest a relationship it might be if Facebook charged for its wares. Facebook would be clear about what sort of business it was. Users would become customers. They’d be buying the product instead of being the product. They’d be in a position to expect service, as opposed to the automated wasteland that is Facebook’s cursory nod to responding to user concerns.
